For parents
What Donut Learn is, how it works, and how to get the most from it.
Who it’s for
Children in grade 3, and children in grade 2 or 4 who want grade 3 practice. Children who are still learning to read can listen to every question and hint.
Getting started
- A parent sets up the app in about a minute: pick a nickname and an animal for each child (up to four).
- An optional quick check of about five minutes finds a good place to start. You can also start from the beginning.
- When more than one child shares a device, each child gets a Picture Code so they open their own progress.
A good routine
- One lesson a day, about ten minutes, three or more days a week.
- Quick Facts for a minute or two to keep times tables fresh.
- Wrong answers get a gentle hint, not a red X. Let your child try again before helping.
The Parent Area
Tap “For parents” at the bottom of the home screen, then tap the four numbers shown in words. Inside you’ll find:
- A Weekly Report for each child.
- Learners: nickname, avatar, Read Aloud, easy-read letters, Picture Code and starting points.
- Settings: Daily Goal, practice days and sound levels.
- Data on this device: delete all data.
Privacy in one line
Donut Learn 1.0 works without an account, and progress is saved on your device.
